BOY GEORGE & CULTURE CLUB

Boy George & Culture Club bring glamour to the Matterhorn and usher in a specially rehearsed acoustic set for Zermatt Unplugged. The British band, which has reunited with original members, heralded the 80s with the song Do You Really Want to Hurt Me. Their new album Life, which blends soul and reggae rock, Britpop and acid jazz, has totally surprised critics. Enthusiastic concert reviews speak volumes: Fans from back when and newly-won fans alike celebrate a party entirely in the style of Boy George & Culture Club.

JOHANNES OERDING
http://www.johannesoerding.de

The German pop-poet Johannes Oerding is an incredibly nice guy and a refreshingly funny entertainer. His songs are really well received in Switzerland. With the albums Alles brennt and Kreise, the Hamburg-based musician has earned a large fanbase in this country and is a welcomed guest at Swiss radio stations. Acoustically, Johannes Oerding is dynamite, which is why the Scorpions and Peter Maffay adorned their unplugged tours with him. In 2016, the musician was already a guest on the Matterhorn. Anyone who remembers the outstanding concert at the Vernissage has already booked a ticket for The Alex.

JACOB BANKS
http://www.mrjacobbanks.com

There are two things in the life of musician Jacob Banks that have broken his heart but also paved his way: the early death of his best friend, who encouraged him to make music, and the songs of Al Green from the soundtrack Book of Eli with Denzel Washington. Eight years later, Jacob Banks himself is behind the music of a film with the Oscar winner. The musician of Nigerian descent is England’s new great soul voice. Open mic gigs in Birmingham took him from the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge to the support of Emilie Sandé and Alicia Keys. In November 2018 he released his much anticipated debut album The Village.

HUGO BARRIOL
https://www.facebook.com

On the Road: The name of the EP is programmed in the life of French folk singer Hugo Barriol. He spent many months in the Paris Métro, singing self-composed songs with English lyrics. In the Pigalle station, the director of a label discovered and signed him. In 2016 he won the Metro FM Music Awards. When offered to take part in a casting show, Hugo Barriol graciously declined. Since then the possibilities for the artist with the gentle voice are on the up and up: Support from Justin Nozuke and Alain Chamfort, “Clip of the week” in ELLE, and ever more exciting venues Europe-wide.

ALEX CLARE

It was quite a big bang when British musician Alex Clare launched with his debut album The Lateness Of The Hour. On it was the song Too Close: awesome beats mixed with an unmistakable voice and nervous energy. This was followed by top rankings worldwide. Alex Clare has always emphasized the importance of acoustic songwriting for his work. The brand new album Three Days at Greenmount combines his best songs, which reveal their true soul acoustically in a minimalist guise, just as Alex Clare loves them most and celebrates with his audience at the unplugged concert.

Winkelmatten Chapel
BRUNO BIERI & LIONIUS TREIKAUSKAS

From Silence is the essence of Bruno Bieri & Lionius Treikauskas. In the Winkelmatten chapel the musicians make the silence audible with their voice, cello, handpan, and alphorn. Their own compositions tell stories between mountain peaks and depths of valleys. They play songs with and without words, let cheerful shouts and shouts of cheer sound, inspired by wind and weather. Voices echo in the majestic sound of the Alps. From tranquility, a concert develops with power, sound, and mischief – unplugged.
