FENSTER (US – DE / Morr Music) is a Berlin-based weird-pop band. They recorded their first album Bones in the winter of 2011 in a basement in Berlin, and it was released on Morr Music in March 2012.
The band started in 2010 when JJ Weihl and Jonathan Jarzyna discovered their mutual interest in bleak 50s Americana, post apocalyptic fiction, and darkly playful pop music. Rémi Letournelle joined the band as a percussionist and developed his distinct way of playing standing drums. Together the three developed an addiction to touring. Their live show pulses with stark minimalism and moments of noisy improvisation.
After playing SXSW and touring the US and Europe in the spring and summer of 2012, their producer Tadklimp will join the band for their upcoming tours in Europe and the US, expanding the sonic dimension of their spooky arrangements.
